Mexico/U.S. Border on Wikipedia

You all might find it useful to scroll through wikipedia entry for the Mexico/U.S. border. The maps will probably be useful when we're reading It Came from Del Rio, and I think the photos are the most interesting part. There are tons of photos from different places along the border, and you can see the variety of fences and barriers that have been rigged up to keep people in or out. My favorite is one from a beach near the border in Tijuana:


As we've discussed in class, a border becomes a part of everyday life. You can see that some people are even using the shallow shadow of the fence to get some shade from the sun.

So keep Wikipedia in mind as you write-- while it isn't appropriate as an academic source, you may find it useful for finding illustrations for your posts.
